Film Room SVOD Delivery
During NBA on Prime coverage, the Encore C Unit typically produces 2 Film Room segments per show (1 Film Room segment for each game) that get delivered as VOD assets to the Prime Video platform using the Adobe PVLS VOD Delivery export preset (1080p59.94 SDR Stereo H264 @ 30Mbps).
The current producer for Film Room is Mahmoud Mohamed, editor is typically Jeff Levitt and the overseeing producers are Alvin Anol and Alex Strand.
Segments are pre-recorded with talent and then sent to an Adobe Premiere editor in Encore to package and deliver the final VOD asset using the Adobe PVLS VOD Delivery export preset (1080p59.94 SDR Stereo H264 @ 30Mbps). Editors will drop the completed Film Room segment to the following storage path:
//lax47-prod/EVS/Transfer from EVS/Filmroom/
Once the Film Room segment is complete and ready for distribution, the producers contact Eric Peters who does a QC of the file and uploads it to Aspera for final delivery.
Film Room File Naming:
All File Naming is managed on a a tab within the Quip called NBA SVOD 2025-26 Matches and Identifiers and available here: https://quip-amazon.com/YOwrAi7OceLg/NBA-SVOD-2025-26-Matches-and-Identifiers#temp:C:cVd6b9849417dd640bebcc1e4ac7
The SVOD team will populate the Quip with the required filename on the SVOD 1P Deliveries tab, which is how the VOD asset must be labeled for the Aspera upload to ensure it properly goes through the automated VOD delivery pipeline. With 1 Film Room segment produced per game currently, the corresponding element on the SVOD 1P Deliveries tab will always be the element labeled as VOD Container = Film Room Recap/Clip type = Film Room 1. There are many additional Film Room element placeholders on the tab which can all be ignored - these are additional containers for if/when the Film Room workflow scales to larger volume per game.
Film Room Communications:
Communications with the SVOD team is done through the #nba-svod-vod-asset-delivery channel on the Amazon Corp Slack. Once a file is uploaded to Aspera a message is posted on the Slack channel, with an acknowledgement from the SVOD team. The SVOD team will then post a message to confirm once the asset has gone through the automated publishing pipeline and is live on the Prime Video platform.
Film Room Graphics:
For any Film Room graphics, the NBA player headshots and all team logos are accessible to the PHP edit machines in Iconik.

These graphics are also accessible on the LAX-47 storage, where the editor can access directly. There is a Finder shortcut to Player Headshots/3D Logos/2D Logos pinned to the sidebar for the Editors to reference.
Film Room Custom Thumbnails:
There is a Photoshop PSD template provided to the editors to create the custom thumbnails for Film Room.
Thumbnails are uploaded directly into the Quip in 2 different frame sizes, 4:3 and 16:9. Thumbnails are all .PNG format. There is a dedicated column in the Quip for both Thumbnail formats. The current workflow has Mahmoud Mohamed handling this step.
